What this tool does
This makes a QR code: a square of dots that a phone camera reads in a second. Pick what it should open, a web page, plain text, your Wi-Fi, a contact card, a WhatsApp chat, an email, a phone call, a text message, a place on the map or an event, then type the details. The code draws itself as you type, and you can download it as a PNG or SVG picture, copy it, or print it.
Three switches add more. Change the look gives you dot and corner shapes, your colours and your logo in the middle. Line under the QR adds a short line like "Scan for the menu". Make a print turns it into a sticker at the right size, or an A6 or A5 card with a title, ready to print.
Everything is made in your browser. Your logo, your Wi-Fi password and your contact details are never sent to us or stored, and they are left out of the share link.
Why our QR codes never expire
Many "free" QR makers put their own short link inside the code. When you scan it, your phone goes to their website first and is then sent on to yours. That lets them count scans, but if they close your account, ask for money or shut down, every printed code stops working.
Our codes hold the content itself: the address, the Wi-Fi details or the contact. A phone reads it directly, so nothing in between can break and nothing can expire. The other side is that a printed code can't be changed later: if your web address changes, print a new code, or point the code at a page you control and change that page instead.
The kinds, and how they are written
Phones understand a few standard formats. A link is just the address (we add https:// when you leave it out). Wi-Fi uses the form WIFI:T:WPA;S:network;P:password;;, which iPhone and Android cameras offer to join. A contact is a vCard that the phone offers to save. Email is a mailto link with the subject and message filled in. Location opens Google Maps at your coordinates, address or shared map link. An event is a calendar entry the phone offers to add.
A Google Form, an Instagram profile, a YouTube video or a review page are all links: copy the address from your browser's address bar and paste it in.
How big to print it
A simple rule works well: make the code at least a tenth of the distance people scan from. In the hand or on a table, 2.5 cm is enough. At a counter about a metre away, aim for 10 cm. On a wall across a room, go bigger. Always leave a white margin around the code, and keep dark dots on a light background: many phones can't read a code printed the other way round.
The Make a print switch does the sum for you: pick where people will scan it, and the sticker comes out at that size.
Logo and colours
A QR code can lose part of its dots and still be read, because it carries spare information. With a logo, we switch to the highest level (H), which can rebuild about 30% of the code, and keep the logo inside that margin. You can change the dot shape, the corners and the colours; the checks below the code warn you when the contrast is too low or the colours are the wrong way round. The shuffle buttons only pick combinations that scan.
Wi-Fi: one thing to know
A Wi-Fi QR contains your password. Anyone who can see the code can join your network, which is the point for guests, but it means you should print it only where you want people to connect, not in a photo you share online. For a shop or a café, a separate guest network is a good idea.
An example
Lakshmi runs a sweet shop in Kallakurichi in 2026. She makes three codes: a Wi-Fi code for the guest network on the counter, a Location code on her delivery boxes so customers can find the shop, and a Link code to her Google review page on the bill. She adds her logo, prints the Wi-Fi code as an A6 card with the title "Free Wi-Fi", and scans each one with her phone before printing.

Questions
Is this QR code generator free, and do the codes expire?
It's free, with no sign-up, and the codes never expire. Each code holds its content itself, without a short link from us, so nothing can stop it working later.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Turn on Change the look and drop your logo in the middle. The code switches to the highest error correction, so it still scans. Your logo stays on your device.
Can I change a QR code after printing it?
No: a printed code always holds what was in it when you made it. If the content may change, point the code at a page you control and update that page instead.
How do I make a QR code for a Google Form?
Open the form, copy its address from the browser (or the form's Send → link), choose Link here and paste it.
What size should I print it?
At least a tenth of the scanning distance: about 2.5 cm in the hand, 5 cm on a table, 10 cm at a counter or on a wall a metre away. Make a print sizes it for you.
Is my Wi-Fi password safe?
It is made on your device and never sent to us, but it is inside the QR, so anyone who can see the code can join. Print it only where guests should connect.
