Guide
What this tool does
This makes a UPI QR code for your UPI ID. Customers scan it with any UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or their bank's app), see your name, type or confirm the amount, and pay. The money goes straight from their bank account to yours. The QR is drawn on your device and nothing passes through us: no fees, no sign-up, no account.
Type your UPI ID and the name to show, and the QR is ready. Fixed amount fills in the amount and a short note (an invoice number, say). Under Design you pick the shape of the dots and of the three corner squares, the colours, and drop in your logo. Shop stand lays the QR out as a printable counter stand in A6, A5 or A4.
What a UPI QR holds
A UPI QR is a short link that UPI apps understand, written the way NPCI, which runs UPI, describes in its linking specification: upi://pay?pa=…&pn=…&cu=INR. pa is the UPI ID that gets the money and pn is the name; both are needed. am adds a fixed amount, cu is the currency (only INR) and tn is a note the payer sees. The Your UPI link card shows exactly what your QR holds; the same link works as a pay button on a website or in a message, because it opens a UPI app on phones.
Static or fixed amount?
The specification itself describes a small shop that simply prints a QR with its UPI ID and name; the customer types the amount after scanning. That static QR works for every bill, so it suits a counter. A fixed amount QR is better for one known price: a monthly tuition fee, an invoice, a ticket. Print a fixed-amount QR only where that price is always right, or customers will pay the wrong amount.
Check before you print
Three checks save a stack of wrong stands. First, scan your own QR with your phone: the pay screen should show the name your bank has for the UPI ID. A one-letter typo in the ID sends the money to someone else, or nowhere. Second, pay ₹1 to it from another phone and check that it reaches your account. Third, print the QR at least 2.5 cm wide on a counter, larger on a wall, and keep it flat and free of glare: matt paper or matt lamination scans better than glossy.
Limits and business UPI IDs
Banks set how much can be paid through UPI in a day; most allow up to ₹1 lakh a day, some less, and a few categories more (Razorpay's summary, checked 20 Oct 2026). If you sell above that, a customer may not be able to pay in one go. For a shop, a business (merchant) UPI ID from your bank or payment app can bring payment alerts, a sound box and fewer "unknown person" warnings in customers' apps; a personal UPI ID works too for small sales.
Your own design, and the shop stand
Under Design, the dots can be square, rounded, round, diamond or flowing (joined to their neighbours), and the three corner squares get their own frame and centre shapes and colour. Keep the dots darker than the background: light dots on a dark background confuse many phones, and the checks below warn you. A logo in the middle is read on your device and never uploaded; with a logo the QR switches to its highest damage tolerance, so it still scans. Whatever you pick, scan the result with a couple of phones before you print many.
The shop stand puts your shop name at the top, the QR in a white card, "Pay with any UPI app", your UPI ID written out, and a small reminder for customers to check the name before paying. Pick A6 for a small counter, A5 for a stand or wall, A4 for a door, and one of three looks: Paper, Ink or Sunny.
An example
Lakshmi runs a provision store in Kallakurichi in 2026. She types her UPI ID and "Lakshmi Stores", turns on Shop stand, picks A5 and the Paper look, and prints it. She scans it with her phone, sees her bank's name for the account, and pays ₹1 from her son's phone to be sure. Her neighbour Ravi, a tailor, uses Fixed amount for alteration bills: ₹450 with the note "Blouse stitching", sent as a picture on WhatsApp, so the customer only confirms.

Questions
Is this UPI QR code generator free?
Yes. Every QR and stand is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. Everything is made on your device and nothing is uploaded.
Does the money go through this website?
No. The QR only holds a pay link to your UPI ID. When a customer pays, the money goes from their bank to yours through UPI; this site never sees it.
Will Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm scan it?
Yes. The QR holds the standard UPI pay link, which every UPI app reads. Always test with your own phone before printing.
Can I make a UPI QR with a fixed amount?
Yes. Turn on Fixed amount, type the amount and, if you like, a short note such as an invoice number. The payer then only confirms.
Why does the payer's app show a different name?
UPI apps show the name your bank has for the UPI ID. The name you type here appears on the stand and in some apps, but the bank's name is the one to check.
Can I check that a UPI ID is correct here?
No. Only the banks can confirm a UPI ID, so scan the QR with your phone and pay ₹1 to it once before you print.
