Guide

What this tool does

This makes a WhatsApp link: when someone taps it, WhatsApp opens a chat with your number, with your message already typed in if you add one. It works on phones and computers, in WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business. Put it in your Instagram bio, on your website, in emails, in ads or on a poster. Everything is made on your device: we never store your number or your message.

Pick your country, type your number and, if you like, a message, and the link is ready. Two switches add more. Make a QR code turns the same link into a QR code that people scan with their phone camera, with a line under it like "Chat with us on WhatsApp", your own shapes and colours, and your logo in the middle. Make a website button gives you a floating chat button for your website, as a few lines of code to paste once.

How a WhatsApp link is written

WhatsApp's own help page describes click-to-chat links: https://wa.me/ followed by the full number in international format, then ?text= and the message if you want one. International format means the country code and the number together, with no plus sign, no zero in front of the number, and no spaces, brackets or dashes. An Indian number 098765 43210 becomes wa.me/919876543210; a UK number 07700 900123 becomes wa.me/447700900123. This tool drops the extra zero and the spaces for you.

The message has to be written safely for a link: spaces become `, an ampersand becomes `, and so on. The tool does that too, so emojis, Tamil, Hindi and every other language work.

A link without a number

Leave the number empty and the link opens WhatsApp with your message typed in, and lets the person pick who to send it to. That suits "share this with a friend" buttons, not a chat with you.

Ready messages

A ready message saves your customers typing, and tells you where they came from. Use one starter for your Instagram bio and another for the poster at your counter, and you'll know which works. The starters here (Order, Price enquiry, Appointment, Admission) are a beginning: change them to fit your shop. Keep the message short: a long one makes a long link and a crowded QR code.

The QR code

The QR code holds the same link. Phones read it with the normal camera; there is nothing to install. Print it at least 2.5 cm wide for a counter, bigger for a wall or a poster. You can change the shape of the dots and corners, the colours and add your logo; the tool keeps the dots darker than the background, warns you when contrast is low, and switches to the highest damage tolerance with a logo, so the code still scans. Shuffle shapes, Shuffle colours and Shuffle all try ready-made looks that are tested to scan.

The website button

The website button is a single link with its look written inside it, so it works on WordPress, Wix, Blogger, Shopify and plain HTML sites without any plugin. Pick WhatsApp's own green or white Chat on WhatsApp button, or a round green icon, in small, medium or large. It can float in a corner of every page, or sit inside a page, such as next to "Questions or orders?" on your Contact page. WhatsApp asks businesses to use its button as it is, so the words and colours stay the same; the preview shows the exact code at real size. Paste the code once, just before the end of your page or in your builder's "custom code" or footer box. It loads nothing from other sites and adds no tracking.

An example

Kavya runs a home bakery in Kallakurichi in 2026. She makes a link with her number and the message "Hi! I'd like to order a cake for", puts it in her Instagram bio, and prints the QR code with "Order on WhatsApp" under it for her delivery boxes. Customers tap or scan, finish the sentence and send. On her small website she pastes the green chat button, bottom right.

Questions

Is this WhatsApp link generator free?

Yes. Every link, QR code and button is free, with no sign-up. Everything is made on your device, and we never store your number or message.

Do I need WhatsApp Business?

No. The link works with a normal WhatsApp number too. WhatsApp Business is free and adds a profile, opening hours and quick replies, which help a shop.

Why does the link drop the zero in front of my number?

WhatsApp wants the number in international format: the country code, then the number without the leading zero. The tool does it for you.

Can I add a message in Tamil or Hindi?

Yes. The message is encoded safely in the link, so any language and emoji works. Test the link once to see it.

Will the website button slow down my site?

No. It is one link with its look written inside it. It loads nothing from other sites and has no tracking.

Can I check that my number has WhatsApp here?

No. Tap the link on your own phone; if the number has WhatsApp, the chat opens.
