Guide
What this tool does
A plain screenshot looks unfinished in a post, a slide or a portfolio. This tool puts it in a browser frame on a backdrop, with soft corners, a shadow, a 3D tilt and an optional caption, on a canvas of the size you need. It also sizes the picture for the place it is going. Everything is drawn on your own device: the screenshot never leaves it. You can also paste code and get a neat window card with simple colouring, for tutorials and posts.
Taking a good screenshot
On Windows, press Windows + Shift + S, drag over the part you want, and it is on the clipboard: come back here and press Ctrl + V. On a Mac, Shift + Command + 4 captures part of the screen, and Shift + Command + 4 then Space captures one window. On most Android phones, press power and volume down together; on an iPhone, the side button and volume up.
Two habits make screenshots look better. First, zoom the browser to 110–125% before you capture a website, so the text stays readable when the picture is shrunk. Second, close what you don't need: extra tabs, notifications, the bookmarks bar, chat windows.
Choosing a size
Start with the place the picture is going. Social media has Instagram posts (1080 × 1080 and 1080 × 1350), stories, reels and WhatsApp status (1080 × 1920), X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube thumbnails. Website has the link preview (1200 × 630), a website hero, a blog cover, Product Hunt, Dribbble and an email banner. Screens has Full HD, 2K, 4K, a phone screen, a tablet and an A4 page. Ratios gives plain shapes from 1:1 to 21:9, and Your own takes any size from 100 to 3,840 pixels a side. Fit the screenshot makes the canvas take the screenshot's own shape. The canvas never changes shape while you edit: only what is on it moves.
Placing the screenshot
The screenshot sits in the middle at first. Drag it on the preview to move it, and drag its corner to make it bigger or smaller (the Size on the canvas slider does the same). A screenshot can run off the edge for a bolder look. On a phone, tap it first, then drag. With the keyboard, select it with Tab, move it with the arrow keys and resize it with plus and minus. Centre it puts it back.
Backdrop and frame
The signature grid is calm and works for most things. A gradient or glow adds energy for launch posts. Solid and paper keep attention on the screenshot. Each style keeps its own colours, and you can pick any colour with the picker. Picture offers soft colour backdrops (sunrise, sea, dusk, mint, aurora, candy), your own screenshot blurred behind itself, or a picture of your own (it stays on your device). See-through gives a PNG with no background, for slides and documents with their own colour.
Use the browser frame (light or dark) for websites; you can type the address shown in the bar. Use no frame for app windows or charts that already have their own edge.
Tilt and 3D
Choose a ready-made angle (turn left or right, lie back, float, rise or an isometric view), or Your own and set the tilt back, turn and spin with three sliders. The tilt is drawn with real perspective, so the near side grows and the far side shrinks, as in a photo. A gentle angle (under 30 degrees) keeps the text readable.
Sizes for each place
As of October 2026, Instagram shows posts 1080 pixels wide, from square (1:1) to portrait (4:5), and stories fill a 9:16 screen. Link previews on WhatsApp, Facebook and LinkedIn use the Open Graph image; Meta recommends at least 1200 × 630. Slides, YouTube thumbnails and most wide screens are 16:9. The other sizes card below shows the same picture in six popular sizes, and one click saves that size.
An example
Divya builds websites in Kallakurichi. She has just finished a school's new site and wants to share it on Instagram and in a WhatsApp status. She takes a screenshot of the home page at 125% zoom, pastes it here, picks the browser frame and types the school's address in the bar. She chooses the Instagram post size and a glow backdrop in the school's blue and yellow and adds a caption, "New website for St. Mary's School". From the other sizes card she saves the square post and the story, and she downloads a 1200 × 630 version for the link preview on the school's own page. It takes two minutes, with no app to install and no account.
Code cards
Paste up to 40 lines (2,000 characters) of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or Python; a counter shows how much is left. The code is only drawn as a picture: it is never run. The language is guessed, or you can choose it. The card can be dark or light, with or without line numbers. The colouring is deliberately simple: it is meant for short snippets in posts and slides, not as a full code editor.
Files
PNG keeps every pixel sharp and supports the see-through backdrop. JPG is the smallest for photo-like pictures. WebP is small and sharp, good for websites. Quality sets the file size: As sized saves exactly the chosen size, Twice as sharp doubles it for crisp results on modern screens, and Up to 4K makes the long side 3,840 pixels. Files never go past 3,840 pixels a side. Copy image puts the picture on your clipboard to paste straight into a chat or a design app.
Privacy and fair use
Before you share, hide private details: phone numbers, email addresses, order numbers, and anything in the address bar you wouldn't post. Show other people's work only when you have the right to.
